Brisbane Central is the central railway station for the QR City Train rail network of Brisbane, Queensland Australia. The first station building was a wood and corrugated iron structure, opened on August 18, 1889 as part of the line running from Central to Roma Street Station.

In 1901 an elegant new station was constructed at Central with arches of corrugated iron over the platforms and a portico on Ann Street. Both of these features were later sacrificed to progress, but during this period the original railway refreshment rooms were constructed.

In 1965 with the renovations complete a new Hotel named ‘Fihelly's Arms' opened for business, taking over the job of the refreshment rooms and servicing the people of Brisbane with cold beers, warm conversation and excellent food.

In 2005 the establishment was renamed ‘Grand Central Hotel’ with the addition of a gaming parlour, ‘The Dining Car’ restaurant and the ‘Platform Bar’. Today it is a thriving landmark Hotel, providing a truly unique experience for all patrons.

The ‘new’ hotel continues to be the central meeting place for city workers, train travellers and local residents. The food is first class, the beers are cold, the big screens provide entertainment and information and the welcome is always very friendly.
